CARR Will Permit Competitors Age 14 & Up
CANAAN, NH (January 10, 2003): The Canaan Association of Racers for
Racers has opened the door for competitors age 14 and up to compete in
entry level divisions at the Canaan Fair Speedway asphalt track. The
move has come after recognizing that some 14-year-old competitors have
five or more years of karting under their belt.
"There are a number of talented karters in racing that are making the
move to stock cars earlier due to the experience that they are gaining,"
commented CARR Operation Manager Bob Stanhope.
"If you look around the state and New England, there are some rising
stars that have come out of karting at facilities such as Sugar Hill
Speedway in Weare, NH. They are receiving quality experience at a
professional track at a very young age. While we have opened the door to
these youngsters, with parental consent, there is a limit," continued
Stanhope.
If a 14-year-old wants to compete at the Canaan Fair Speedway asphalt
track, they will have to discuss their prior experience with CARR to
assure we a providing a safe environment for all competitors. A majority
of these drivers will be requested to compete in the Enduros, Mini
Stocks, or Super Streets. Once they have proven themselves, they can
begin the move up in divisions.
The insurance provider, K & K Insurance, for CARR/Canaan Fair Speedway
does allow for 14-year-olds to compete.
