Canaan Asphalt 2003 Plans Taking Shape
CANAAN, NH (December 1, 2002): A week after the announcement that the Canaan
Speedway had been sold to C.V. Elms III and renamed the Canaan Fair
Speedway, things are quickly taking shape for the 2003 racing season.
The asphalt track announced that it will run a Saturday night program for
the 2003 racing season. Canaan Association of Racers for Racers
(CARR) will oversee the management of events at the 1/3 mile track on that
night. CARR will hold a rules meeting for the following divisions
on Saturday, December 14th at Noon: Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Late Models,
Street Stocks, Mini Stocks, and Strictly Stocks. All interested drivers
and/or owners should meet at the Canaan Fair Speedway function hall on that
date.
CARR has also announced a few important dates for the beginning of the 2003
season. On April 12th, CARR will hold a car show at Fleury's Auto Sales in
Newport, NH. The following Saturday, April 19th, will be Practice Day along
with a $1000-to-Win Enduro race. April 26th is the
official season opener for the 2003 season.
CARR will have a presence at the Big E in West Springfield, MA for Racearama
from February 28 - March 2, 2003. If your team would like to
display their car for this event, please contact Mike Brousseau at
603-542-2406 (evenings).
CARR membership forms and Enduro entry forms are available now. Again,
contact Mike Brousseau in the evenings at 603-542-2406 for these forms. For
